SUPAMAC has recently successfully completed a pilot study with four SUPAMAC customers utilising SNPlex. This is an exciting new service that will benefit all sectors of the biological research community and will be made available to universities, research institutes, Federal and State research organisations and industry across Australia.
SNPlex utilises the ABI 3730 DNA Analyzer for multiplexed SNP genotyping, with up to 48 SNPs genotyped simultaneously in a single sample. SNPlex utilises multiplexed oligonucleotide ligation/ PCR assay (OLA/PCR) technology and ZipChute™ Mobility Modifier probes. 4,500 SNPs can be run in 15 minutes, making this an extremely high throughput system for large projects.
To enable accuracy in setting up the above reactions SUPAMAC will utilise an Eppendorf epMotion 5070 and 5075 liquid handler.
