Services
Shipment of DNA
Please send samples in PCR tubes in strips of 8 (Interpath Services Cat # 313100, 20% discount on tubes for customers of SUPAMAC). Label the tops of your tubes sequentially and put your unique identifier (5 characters max) on the side of the tube. SUPAMAC retains the right to change your identifier if it is too complicated or inappropriate. Within Australia, send in liquid form at room temperature. Please email a copy of your order form and also send a hard copy with your DNA by express mail.
  
 

What is the turnaround time?
Samples dropped off at SUPAMAC before 4:00 pm will be processed on the following business day subject to space availability. The results will generally be available on the second business day following sample drop off. For high quality DNA, the guaranteed read length is 700 bases. Sequences are emailed as text files with or without electropherograms (your choice). Hard copies are put in the post.
If there is an inconsistency with some of your results, we may rerun them to try and improve the sequence for you. Your results that are ready will be sent to you straight away, while the reruns are usually ready 48 hours later.

Turnoround time for other services is subject to current demand. Usually, customers receive their results four weeks from the day the samples have been received by SUPAMAC.

Please also note that the cut-off times have changed. Samples dropped off at SUPAMAC before 4:00 pm will be processed on the following business day subject to space availability. The results will generally be available on the second business day following sample drop off.
We have moved to a more automated process for setting up samples and require samples to be sent in 0.2 ml PCR tubes in strips of eight with caps. Alternatively, samples can be sent in 96 well plates with caps. The following tubes and plates are recommended with a discount being given to customers of SUPAMAC.
